So I've been part of a Highland Lolita group for almost 2(?) years now but have unfortunately never once been able to attend a meet due to either work or being ill. Yesterday, for the first time, I had been able to attend my first ever and had had a wonderful day. I met some new people,to which I have now added on Facebook and hope to meet again soon and I pushed myself out of my comfort zone. The hardest part of being Lolita, was leaving the house and walking down the high street to meet the other Lolitas as I'm still working in my own self confidence and I'm not yet used to wearing clothing that draws attention to myself. Fortunately, I had some lovely compliments and although one girl did point me out to her friend, I smiled and they did so back so that was nice.
I met the other Lolitas at SoCoco in our town centre to which we all enjoyed a variation of chocolatey drinks and snacks as well as getting to know each other and taking pictures of our co-ords. We also ended up walking into the town's Victorian Market, where we had group photos taken.
I honestly hope I can come to the meets on a regular basis now and continue to push my own boundaries and get rid of my self consciousness as I believe that this will help me on my journey to becoming a confident Goth.
I have posted a link to a video made by one of my Lolita friends that includes a complication of both their and my photos of our meet. Enjoy!
